Monetise Your Web Site
Have you monetised your website
yet?
Until recently, I didn't even know what monetise meant. Now I do, and since it's
a great idea to make a little income from your site, even if it's'only' a
personal site, let's look at a couple of ideas for monetising.
If you're into affiliate marketing at all, perhaps you could put a link on your
personal site leading to your affiliate pages. If you write a review of the
product on your site, people will find it helpful, and are more likely to visit
your affiliate page. The more personal you can make the review, the better.
Really believing in it helps you to write more convincingly.
Not quite affiliate marketing, but similar, if you are a member of any programs
that build downlines, use any of their text links, or banner ads on your site.
You won't earn money from this, but it's always useful to have a downline in any
program.
Of course, one of the best ways to monetise your site is to have paid
advertisements on it. The best known of these is Google Adsense, however there
are many other programs which will work just as well. One of the drawbacks with
these programs is that they do not permit you to advertise pages with their
adverts on them, as this is viewed as artificially inflating your visitor rate.
Some programs will cancel your participation for this.
There are many people who claim to be earning large sums from this type of
monetisation, however, it will take you time to build up your earnings.
One way is to have as many sites as you can, or many pages on one site, and
monetise them all. Be aware though, that it takes some time to maintain these
sites, and search engines like updates. If you don't have the time to look after
sites, and add new content fairly often, this will not work too well.
Hope you've found this useful - more may be added later, if I find time!
