Autoresponders
You'll probably have read, in many places online, that "the money is in the list". That's pretty much how it goes, but getting that list is another matter.
One way to build a list is to use an autoresponder. Aweber is one of the best known ARs around. Aweber is easy to set up, and has a great deal of training material, so if you're a newbie to autoresponders, and are just setting up your online business, it's a good option for you. There's even a free test drive!
Another autoresponder I use is included in a free package from ISOR, which contains many other useful web tools such as a rotator and an ad tracker. There are also upgrades which will give you much more, of course, but try out the freebies first!
There's a great deal you can do with autoresponders:
Send a newsletter
Follow-up letters to your signups
Advertise to your downline
Promote your business opportunity
You'll be able to come up with others for yourself, I'm sure.
At first, it may seem difficult to write a series of letters for your autoresponder, but if you have a look at the training material, or read the promotional information for the business you're promoting, you'll quickly be able to come up with some ideas. Once you get started, it gets easier, I promise!
You'll probably have a form in the back office of your autoresponder, which you can edit to suit yourself, to use for signups. It's usual to ask for a name and an email address. Keep the required information to a minimum, as people are wary of providing too much information.
A free item for signing up can also be a good idea. It doesn't have to be your own product - an online search will soon find many free items you can use for this purpose. If you can write your own e-book, so much the better, as it will be original material.
I hope I've given you some useful tips on autoresponders. Please let me know if you've found this to be helpful or have any comments. My email address is at the top of the page.
