Cats and Snakes Don't Mix        A Burmese Cat

Cats

This is my girl Tia, a very spoiled old lady of 9-1/2 years. I found her starving in the street, when she was about 15 months old, and couldn't resist taking her home.
Don't you just love people who dump their pets without a thought?    I don't know what had happened to her before I found her, but it was a couple of years before I could pick her up, and before she'd sit on my lap.

Cat Care Secrets     Everything you've ever wanted to know about caring for your cat!

Some cats are very fussy about what they like and don't like.   Tia has a wicker basket and a fur couch to sleep in, and she won't even touch either of them!
Don't know why, but she won't walk on a certain fluffy rug in the bedroom either.    Perhaps she just doesn't like the feel of them.

Cats can also be fussy about what they eat.    They like clean dishes, and to be left alone while they are eating.    Mine also likes a bowl of warm milk, especially in winter, although it's never refused, even in summer.

Make sure you cat gets a proper diet, even if premium cat food is a little more expensive.   It's a good idea to buy the dry food which is specially formulated for oral care, and give your cat that as 50% of its food.   This prevents tartar from forming on their teeth, and could save you heaps in vets bills when your pet reaches old age.

Do you ever play with your cat?   Cats really like company.   Tia likes to sit on the computer while I'm working.

Of course, sometimes, she demands attention, which isn't always convenient when I'm trying to concentrate.

Sometimes I just have to give in, and go and play with her.
